Pelvis
On the dark
of the moon
rhythm of blood.
Red tide
in the fjord
of my hips.
Vagina
"Sheath for a sword."
You slide your long,
dull blade
into me.
My casing:
its red cloth
and its bone.
Birth
A slow candle
on the mantle.
But outside,
the moon:
her great belly
bears the weight
of light.
Pregnant in her
girdle of bone.
Perimenopause
The kundalini,
her red skin.
The ache of wisdom
in a long, slow coil
of snake.
Serpent slides
from my womb,
her dark cave.
