Note that the person behind the
desk, apparently someone in a
position of authority, is a woman,
as is the standing person, maybe a
secretary. Does this convey the
message that Kotex allows women to
occupy any position, freeing her
from washing
diapers
(washable menstrual pads),
so to speak?
The Wallace Meyer archive at the
State Historical Society of
Wisconsin has a proof of this ad;
printed at the bottom of the ad is
"Copy No. 3," probably meaning
that it is the third ad in the
first Kotex series.
