What did women do abouat mark we saw earlier is

Sanshe's Sanitary Shields for sanitary [menstrual] napkins, U.S.A., 1940s-1950s?

Menstruation, period, stains, clothing, underpants, protection, hygiene, belts, pad directory

Introduction

See various underpants and panties (and sanitary napkin belts), 1946-47 (page from Sears, Roebuck and Co. catalog, U.S.A.)

Below: Side facing pad (napkin). The sponge-like central part looks like
plastic or rubber foam (enlargement at bottom of this page) and apparently could absorb leakage from the pad.
"Frontal" (enlargement below) seems an odd way of saying "front." Both ends look the same so it probably means it's the side fronting the pad - which it is.
The shield measures 9 1/2 x 4" (24.1 x 10 cm), the foam pad 5 13/16 x 4" (15 x 10 cm).
Below: Side facing underpants. The white wrinkled material feels and acts like thin flexible plastic.

Below: Enlargement of the end showing SANSHE'S; that mark we saw
earlier appropriately reveals itself as an apostrophe.
Although T.M. REG. means the name was registered as a trademark,
it's not in the online U.S. Patent and Trademark registry.

Below: Enlargement of the central part and word "FRONTAL."
