for women's diseases,
headache, stomach illness, menstruation, and
birth control
SarahAnne

huge gift of medical instruments,
books and advertising material about
women's health.
Harry Finley
created the images.

Emmenogogue
means promoting the menstrual
flow. Making the uterus contract
more would theoretically shorten
the menstrual period. It might
also promote abortion. Menstrual
extraction works from the
other end with similar results. Ergot is
a fungus that attacks grain crops
(and humans); one form causes
contractions of the uterus.
