Boys
Boys usually experience puberty between 10 and 17. The body produces
new hormones, which again cause the physical and emotional changes that
occur in that time.
The shoulders become wider and the muscles bigger. Then hair begins
to grow on the face, under the arms and on the legs, possibly on the chest
and on the back. The penis and testicles become larger at the same time
that the skin on the scrotum becomes darker and wrinkles.
Between 14-15 boys begin to get a lower voice although at times it can
squeak awfully!
Like girls, boys can also get oily skin and pimples on the face, neck
and back.
Cleanliness is also important for boys because they begin to sweat more
at this time.

Boys: This is the way the male reproductive system
works
Penis: The urine tube (urethra) goes through the penis and transports
urine from the urinary bladder. It also transports semen, which among other
things consists of sperm cells.
Scrotum/testicles: This is a soft pouch of skin that hangs back of,
and under the penis. Inside of the scrotum are two testicles that produce
sperm when they are mature.
|
Sperm cells: These are microscopic cells that have heads and tails.
To survive they must have a lower temperature than the body has. Therefore
the testicles lie outside the body below in the scrotum.
Vas deferens: Long, thin tubes that carry sperm from the testicles to
the seminal vesicles.
Seminal vesicles: These are two small glands that produce a fluid. In
addition to sperm cells and fluid from the prostate this fluid produces
semen. Sperm cells are stored in the seminal vesicles.
Prostate: This gland produces a fluid found in semen.
At sexual intercourse the penis becomes stiff, rises, and is placed
in the vagina. The semen is carried through the urethra and out through
the tip of the penis. That's called ejaculation.
About a year after the penis and testicles begin to mature the sperm
production increases. After that boys can get an erection and have an ejaculation
anytime.
