Tampax tampons
Tampax tampons are composed of compressed cotton and/or rayon. When
they're in place in the vagina they expand in length and/or width so that
they close tightly against the walls of the vagina.
Tampax tampons are individually packed and therefore hygienic to use.
Each tampon has a smooth insertion tube, which places the tampon correctly
in the vagina. When you use the tube applicator the insertion is easier
and you don't have to touch the tampon or vagina. [Take THAT, o.b.!]
Tampax tampons have a withdrawal string that's well anchored lengthwise
in the tampon. That enables it to be simply and safely withdrawn.
Tampax makes a special tampon for young girls and first-time users -
Tampax Mini. It has a narrow insertion tube that makes it extra easy to
put the tampon in correctly together with a rounded tip that makes insertion
comfortable. When you pull carefully on the string the tampon pulls together
so that it's easy and comfortable to remove.

How to use Tampax tampons
When you use tampons for the first time you should take your time. Some
girls find it easy to use them while others have trouble using them at the
beginning. Don't despair. With a little training you'll insert them without
even thinking about it. In the box you'll find instructions to help you.

Tampons can be inserted while you sit or stand with a foot on the toilet
bowl. You can also stand with slightly bent knees. When you insert the tampon
you should aim up and back at the angle of the vagina. At the beginning
the vaginal muscles tighten. Try therefore to relax. You can use both hands
or just one - choose the way that feels natural to you.
When you take the tampon out pull carefully on the string and it will
glide out. Then just throw it in the toilet. Remember to wash your hands
both before and after you change tampons.
If you feel the tampon in the vagina that means it's not high enough.
Take it out and try a new one.
